About Our Restaurant:

Academe is a distinctive Maine, Brasserie-style restaurant featuring fabulous food and friendly, informal service. Take a seat at the bar, at a front table overlooking Main Street, or, in the winter months, next to the fire and enjoy the warm and inviting ambiance offered to patrons from next door and around the world.

Academe takes its name from the rich educational heritage of New England as well as the educational focus of The Inn’s owners and ongoing programs (e.g. The Inn maintains an externship program for culinary students from nationally recognized institutions). All our menu items — from soups to chowders to salads to sandwiches to entrees — utilize the freshest local ingredients and are perfectly complemented by our diverse wine list, seasonal beers and unique cocktails — Blueberry Martini, Maine Lemonade.

Private Functions:

For private functions from birthday and anniversary celebrations to office parties and wedding rehearsal dinners, a variety of dining options and seating configurations can accommodate groups from twelve to 120. The Baitler Board Room (named for George Baitler, who in the early 20th century converted his private residence to a hotel named, The Tavern — today’s Kennebunk Inn), can accommodate groups from 15 to 50.

Patio Dining (Available Weather Permitting):

The Inn’s enclosed brick patio provides a secluded and tranquil place for outdoor dining in the warm summer months. The patio is also available for special occasions such as small weddings and corporate events.
